Section settings don’t respond — depth and graphics do nothing

Check whether you’re actually in a Section view: a common trap is a 3D view that someone renamed "Section". A renamed 3D view behaves like a 3D view no matter what it’s called, so its section-style controls won’t respond. Look at the view’s type in the Project Browser hierarchy — if it lives under 3D Views, create a true Section (View → Section) for 2D documentation and keep 3D views for perspective or axon cutaways only.
